Self-Portraits With Meaning-The Workshop

Ralph Steiner once famously said “Every photo is a self-portrait.”

If you don’t know the story of ‘self’ you’re telling, how is anyone else supposed to?

I want to help you learn your story.

I want to help you tell your story.

Kind Words From Participants

“This course was so much more than a photography course. It was therapy. Amy’s insight and gentle encouragement were so helpful in transforming my approach in letting myself be seen.”

“It turned out to be so much more than a photography workshop. It was therapeutic and made me look inside myself honestly, and in the process, I broke down a lot of toxic mental constructs that stood in the way of growth.”

“Amy is the BEST. She has such a gift for seeing people and helping them see themselves. I learned so much from a technical standpoint, but I also came away feeling refreshed as an artist with a deeper understanding of how I can find my voice through self-portraiture. She really takes the time to give substantive feedback and get to know her students and I cannot recommend her courses enough!”

Through my time doing self-portraits I have learned that they’re a clue into the overarching story I am trying to tell. Telling this story doesn’t end with self-portraits, but spills over into all other work I do.

This workshop is so much more than self-portraits. I mean, it is self-portraits, but it’s also learning to find your voice and learning to see yourself more clearly.

This workshop is not for you if you just want to be handed a PDF that you can safely tuck into a hard drive and never open again.

This workshop is not for you if you want to stay in the shallow waters and just learn to take prettier pictures of yourself.

This workshop is not for you if you want to stay hidden.

If you’re ready to invest yourself in the process and seek the kind of vulnerability that leads to freedom, this is your spot. This workshop is for YOU.

If it all sounds uncomfortable but exciting, this workshop is for you.

Let me give you a safe space to push through the discomfort and be seen.

anyone with a camera and an open heart is welcome to join

It started as a way to get myself in front of the camera.

It started because my kids were “over it“ and I needed a muse.

It started because I needed a willing subject any time of day.

It started for so many reasons.

But looking back, I know it actually started because I needed to learn to see myself.
