ep. 047 Artist Exploration/Dorothea Lange
Post-Processing with Amy Elizabeth

Dorothea Lange, the accidental documentary photographer who captured the photo Migrant Mother, that went on to define an era in the minds of Americans. She followed an internal calling to hit the streets and take pictures during the Great Depression, circuitously leading her to a role with the Farm Security Administration (FSA), an organization founded via the New Deal for giving aid to farmers and workers.

Listen in as Amy and Chris walk through Dorothea’s life, her transition from studio work to the documentary images she’s known for, what it takes to find your own style, and being patient with your calling.
